The common way to get rid of mold is to use standard anti-fungal agents such as bleach and other toxic chemicals that are dangerous to human health. While these chemicals can kill mold, they usually do not completely get rid of the mold, especially on porous surfaces.
Fortunately there is a better alternative: Essential Oils
"Essential oils offer humanity a powerful, all-natural means of addressing the problems of toxic mold and mildew"
As the bubonic plague decimated Europe in the year 1413, four thieves were captured and charged with robbing the dead and dying victims. When the thieves were tried, the magistrate offered leniency if they would reveal how they resisted contracting the infection as they performed their gruesome acts. They explained that they were perfumers and spice traders and told of a special concoction of aromatic herbs, including cloves and rosemary, that they rubbed on their hands, ears, and temples.
"Every fall, we get mold growing on the siding of our house, so last October, I cleaned a 4 ft. X 4 ft. area with ThievesŪ Household Cleaner. I sprayed it on, scrubbed it with a brush, waited five minutes, and sprayed it down with the hose. I showed my husband how clean it was, but he still chose to clean the rest of the side of the house with bleach. This October, I looked at that side of the house. Again, the seasonal mold is all over the siding...except for the 4 ft. X 4 ft. area I cleaned with Thieves last year!"- Deb Bowman, Nov 23, 2005 issue of Young Living e-News
"From ThievesŪ essential oil blend and Thieves Household Cleaner to Thieves Dentarome Toothpaste and Thieves Hard Lozenges, we cannot go without Thieves! Between the kids and pets, we never worry about exposing them to harmful chemicals because of Young Living's Thieves line. We even send our daughter to school with Thieves Wipes, Thieves Waterless Hand Purifier, and Thieves lozenges. Her teachers and classmates love them too! We have used Thieves Spray and Thieves Wipes on planes and in hotels, we even leave extras in our cars for 'just in case.' We live close to the water so mold is always an issue. We once found mold in our closet on our clothes and belts. Yuck! Normally, we would just throw everything away. Instead we sprayed everything with Thieves and the mold has never come back."- Jihan Thomas in Essential Lifestyle magazine, Vol 3 No 2
